Surveillance

30 minutes of trail camera footage compiled and played at half-speed, arranged to loop from day to night. 1 hour, 7 minutes in total.

Mimicry

3D printed eggs installed in the heavily manicured squares of Savannah, GA.

Iteration #2 of Simulations

This installation piece was composed of two projections displayed on three walls, and three speakers spread throughout the room, each playing a different track. One played the sounds of machines whirring and powering on/off, one played forest sounds reduced to very low quality, and the last played footsteps on a forest floor, also reduced to very low quality. Real tree stumps were arranged in the room, adorned with artificial moss.
There is a deepening discontinuity between the world of man and the animal world. I am applying digital aesthetics to natural visual and auditory elements to discuss this topic. It also speaks to mankind's primary form of interaction with animals, which is through screens or, equally as simulated and fake, through a zoo. We see animals as they exist within our man-made, digitized world.
